My name is Heather and I am a mom to 6 beautiful kids. In February 2015, our youngest daughter, Ali, was diagnosed with very high risk acute lymphoblastic leukemia at the age of 4. As you can imagine, our life suddenly was turned upside down. Watching your daughter fight for her life is something no parent should have to go through. In the last 5 years, Ali has endured numerous rounds of chemotherapy, full body radiation and trial drugs in order to help her beat this disease. She is currently fighting her 6th relapse.
Luckily throughout the bad, there has been so much good. One of those good blessings we count is being able to attend Camp Hobé each year. Camp Hobé was designed as a safe haven for all cancer kids and their siblings. All of my kids have attended every year. It is the highlight of their summer. At camp, they get to bunk all week with friends their age and counselors who not only help them have fun, but understand what they are going through. At camp, they can be themselves without any judgement from others. I love that the siblings of the cancer patients get to attend as well. Siblings often get overlooked during treatment and this is a week where all the kids get to feel special.
It is with this humble plea, that I ask that you consider donating to this wonderful cause. Without donors like you, camp for our kids would not be possible. Camp Hobé has changed my kid’s lives for the better. It has given our kids memories and friendships that help them get through all of the hard times throughout the year.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart,
