Chase was introduced to End Hunger In Calvert County as a faithful volunteer at the End Hunger Warehouse. Throughout his time volunteering, Chase displayed a great work ethic, punctuality, and a constantly positive attitude. Although he was currently working for an entertainment company as a seasonal employee cleaning rental equipment, when Chase was presented with the opportunity to be part of the Culinary Training Program, he quickly decided to participate.
Despite having Autism, Chase excelled in class, diligently studying, and eagerly engaging during all hands-on activities. He unfailingly came to class prepared and was the last to leave, always encouraging both his instructor and fellow classmates. As a result of his determination, Chase mastered the ServSafe Food Handler food safety curriculum and became certified through the National Restaurant Association.
After graduating, because of his exceptional attitude and newly acquired skills, End Hunger staff was able to connect Chase with a local catering company, Herrington on the Bay. He was interviewed and immediately hired on. He is now regularly employed and continues to grow and improve the skills he initially gained in the Culinary Training Program.
