Plan a CFC Event Transcript

Today, we’re going to talk about one of the most fun parts of the Combined Federal Campaign…events!

You might have heard that fundraising events are no longer allowed in the CFC.

But, events that promote, celebrate, and educate about the CFC are still strongly encouraged.

When you bring together your colleagues,

and invite them to share their stories and interact with charity representatives,

you are creating a powerful tool to motivate donors and reach your campaign goals!

Fun, memorable events will have the most impact.

Here’re some tips to get you started.

Tip 1: Choose your time and location strategically. Pick a venue and a time that maximizes attendance.

Tip 2: Create a hook. What do your colleagues enjoy? Contests? Cookouts? Games? The sky is the limit! But choose something people will want to attend.

Tip 3: Publicize, publicize, publicize. People get busy and forget things, so get some invites going, and generate excitement. Use our CFC-branded materials and pre-crafted memos and emails as a resource!

Tip 4: Invite CFC charities to participate in your event. Connecting your colleagues to the great work charities do is powerful stuff. Charities can set up informational booths or speak at events.

Tip 5: Get proper approval for your event and be sure to follow all regulations and ethics guidelines in your agency. Remember CFC funds cannot be used to purchase food, beverages, prizes, or entertainment.

You’re all set! If you need more details, please see the Event Planning Guide on your local CFC zone website.
